Burning Man Theme Camp
Land of Monkey is a multicultural, international straight-friendly LGBTQ+ camp that has camped at Burning Man for over 10 years now.
Our campmates are the best people anyone could imagine.
Above all we are an international camp that welcomes diversity and that promotes human evolution through deep talks, yoga and meditation workshops.
Our Ethos
At Land of Monkey we believe that we are not yet fully human and must evolve. Humanity is a process of becoming, which we all practice throughout our lives. Learning to listen, to be patient, to understand, to forgive and to be more merciful: these are among the skills we practice in becoming more human.
We also evolve through events we share with our fellow Burners. We evolve by cultivating our bodies and minds through workshops, talks and adventures; through dancing, parties and conversations over ice-cold lemonade and chai latte; through openness and arms held wide open to the friends we have not yet met.
We evolve by being the best version of ourselves, which is in and of itself an ongoing process.
Inclusivity
Land of Monkey has always been open, welcoming, and inclusive, but not only when it comes to sexual orientation: our inclusivity also extends to ethnicity, age, religion, and nationality. Our camp has boasted over 40 different nationalities across the years. Everyone is welcome!
